The
Internet
is an interlocking network of
computers that spans the globe,
but believing it to be a
single entity
would be
akin to putting on blinders before entering a maze;
after feeling your way around
for awhile
and reaching an inevitable dead end,
you could not retrace your steps.
It would be pointless to
try to find a way out, anyhow,
as it may be said that any location
on the Internet is
BOTH an
entrance
and an exit.
Alternately, one could argue
convincingly that
the Internet has no
definable entrances or exits
and is simply an endless mAze
in which
"destinations"
are nothing more than settlements
where the weary and lost can claim a sense
of direction and place by interacting with others
who are equally weary and lost.
Alas, much
of the world is falling into this semi-imaginary
plane of existance, and few innocent souls may
be able to avoid
falling into the maze
in the near future....
The
Internet is
upon us. Take the plunge.
This is a maze where no one should feel "lost,"
as we are all lost here together.
